Last night all the dive staff plus some went over to Norman Island to Pirates. It was a special occation for Corey leaving, Josh leaving on Monday. KT and Becca leaving after being here for 4 years. Nathans Birthday.
We all signed our names on the board for the night and made sure that we were all ready to go at 7 on the dot. We needed to be at the docks, because yes we took our 46 ft dive boat. The bosses were driving.
I was kind of nervous that I wouldn't make it, because that day I had the day off and really wanted to go sailing, seeing as i havent been sailing once while Ive been here, so I went out with the Bravo fleet. It was an interesting day. First we get our sails up and everthing and start our journy to our first destination which was to the dogs where we were planning to stop to snorkel and eat lunch. Well, we were until we take the jib down and find out that our engine doesn't work... So now we have a boat load of kids that just arrived who dont know how to sail yet and a broken engine! After getting off the phone with Steve, the fleet capten, we decide to just continue sailing to our final destination for the day, Leverick Bay Virgin Gorda. Luckly I was there, because they were using my phone the whole time!! Then Jen and I decide to go try to get the engine to work manually so that we can shift into forward and reverse down there. We couldn't get some stupid pin out... luckly I had my leatherman....they didn't have any pliers.
We then had to sail through the channel.... and semi sail/get towed to a mooring ball!!
But all and all I had a great day of sailing, we got up to 9.5 knots!!! I guess that means it's a fast boat!
Here's some pictures...
